Phase 2 Week 14 Day 5 I’m Fading

Dateline Wuxi, Thursday December 06, 2012

573 on the elliptical this morning in my 31 minutes.  I’m beginning to notice a pattern here.  I start the week with a high calorie count, right after my cheater day.  It slowly drops during the week.  Obviously I’m losing energy.  That sugar and fat calories really powers the workout.  Not that this is a problem.  I did notice yesterday that my metabolism stays elevated for a considerable period of time after my shower.  I was sweating by the time I got to class, in spite of the cold weather.  Just a bit of exertion on the bike was all it took.

Phase 2 Week 14 Day 4 Tough to Keep the Schedule

Dateline Wuxi, Wednesday December 05, 2012

588 calories on the elliptical machine in 31 minutes.  No time for the workout in the morning, so I had it after a nap at noon.

I’m feeling like winter has closed in on my.  Lacking joy in my work.  Nothing specific to complain about, but complaining anyway.  I don’t enjoy teaching this course.  What would I enjoy teaching?

Phase 2 Week 14 Day 2 Too Damn Tired

Dateline Wuxi, Monday December 04, 2012

Skipped the machine time this morning.  It remains to be seen whether I’ll get on it later today.  All my chicken breast in the freezer had gone very bad.  Breakfast was a frozen skinless chicken breast fresh cooked with garlic, qing cai and brown rice.  Tasty.

I was up until after three in the morning again last night.  Good music practice.  Finally got another post up for www.themaninchina.com  and then frittered away the night.  Dragging ass this morning for sure.

And yes, I had a short nap at noon and then did 595 on the elliptical machine in 31 minutes before eating a bowl of soup for lunch.  Felt good.  Almost back to normal.

Phase 2 Week 14 Day 1 Toxic but Coming Back

Dateline Wuxi, Sunday December 02, 2012

Yesterday was the cheater day.  Didn’t go too far crazy, but we did have two plates of french fries at the Cafe Guan, plus a loaf of french bread with a whole block of cheese, a grilled cheese sandwich, a couple of Starbucks Latte, and far too much scotch.  I woke up feeling quite toxic, but we had to go downtown to meet Wang Tao and give him the baby carrier we bought as a baby gift, so I didn’t get to exercise until six this evening.  Getting started on the elliptical was shear torture.  But amazingly enough, toward the end of my run I was feeling okay.
