604 calories this morning in my 31 minutes on the elliptical.

Zhong qiu jie, the mid autumn festival holiday is over.  Back to teaching this morning.

A full cup of oatmeal with a few banana chips Ruth turfed from her muesli this morning.  A smallish bowl of soup over brown rice for lunch.  I think I also ate a banana at some point in the day.

Shared a glass of wine with Ruth this evening, and put some cheese chunks on our green salad.  Does this count as going off the program?  Well, yes.  It counts as not being strict.

I find that now that my belly is back to a reasonable size, I’m not highly motivated to get rid of the last layer of fat.  But I do want that six pack.  Must get strict again.

Phase 2 Week 6 Day 1 slightly toxic

601 calories on the elliptical.

Now eating porridge with banana for breakfast.  Possibly too many carbs to be on the program.  Must get serious about this last bit of belly flab.  It’s still two inches thick and ugly.  Do I want a six pack or not?

Lunch today was goose soup with a lot of white veggies, mostly cauliflower and bamboo shoots.  Not terrible.  For dinner this evening we had brown rice, broccoli, and poached salmon, with a lettuce and tomato salad.  So all in all it wasn’t a bad day for eating sensibly.

Phase 2 Week 5 Day 7 cheater day

Posting this the day after.  We rode our bikes to Wanda Plaza for Starbucks in lieu of the exercise machine.

Ice cream at DQ

Grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato and bacon for lunch.  Caesar salad for dinner.  Too many glasses of wine, huang jiu, and sambuca but otherwise not too much of a pig out.

Phase 2 Week 5 Day 6 Weigh in Friday

96.1 down .2kg from last week.  At least I’m going in the right direction.

65..8  up .6 kg over last week.  She’s blaming it on the greasy duck and pig’s feet that Gloria cooked up for us this past week.

My best weight before going to Canada was:  94.9 = 209.2 lbs.
starting weight 109.6 – 94.9 = 14.7kg or 32.4 lbs. total loss before the summer

Weight this morning:  96.1kg = 211lb 13.8oz so I’m still a couple of pounds heavier than I was at the beginning of the summer.  Time to get STRICT with the program.

616 calories in my 31 minutes on the elliptical.  That’s more like it.  Just shows what can be done with a little more effort.  And motivation.

I think I did okay today, so far.  Tomorrow is our cheater day.  I’m ready.

Phase 2 Week 5 Day 5 Trying Again

Okay, after last night and my nightcap of Sambuca, I’m ready to start the program again.

No breakfast this morning.  Worked at the computer until noon and then had a bowl of soup on brown rice.  I’ve been doing various things on the computer, including making a loan to Kiva and trying to solve my problem with Ubuntu not contacting the software center.  We’ve canceled our television appearance in Nanjing on Saturday, so that takes some pressure off.

It’s now twenty-five minutes to three and it’s time to get on the machine.

545 on the elliptical.  Still in computer hell, but at least I got on the machine. Now it’s time to make dinner.

Okay, it’s been not a bad day.  We’re still not eating six meals a day, and sized as called for on the program.  But nothing today was off program very far.  This evening we rode to the fruit store and had a lump of durian each and some watermelon.  I suppose that’s a fair load of sugars and carbs.

Phase 2 Week 5 Day 4 Hanging On Now

I got on the machine bright and early this morning, despite not getting to bed last night until after four in the morning.

557 calories in my 31 minutes while I work on learning the song.

It’s been a long day.  We did a run to Metro and Decathlon.  I bought a great cotton Tai Chi suit.   I’m tired.

And that’s probably why I cracked the Sambuca and had what amounts to alcohol candy.  Damn.  Goodnight.

Phase 2 Week 5 Day 3 What is My Problem?

Oatmeal porridge and a banana for breakfast this morning. Again.

Haven’t been on the elliptical yet.  Busy trying to figure out the intricacies of switching my main site over to WordPress.

Okay, spent the entire day working with WordPress to convert my main site to a WordPress site.  Did not get on the elliptical.  Feel like crap, with neck and shoulder pain..  And now it’s eleven thirty at night.

I shall take a shower and go to bed.

Phase 2 Week 5 Day 2

Oatmeal porridge and a banana for breakfast this morning.

Dripping sweat as I type this.  Six more minutes to go on the machine.  Must get back to it.

574 calories on the elliptical trainer in my 31 minutes this morning.  While learning the words to Zhong Guo Da.  Coming along nicely.

Okay, the gin and tonic certainly wasn’t on the program and it hit me like a hammer to the head.  Ruth made a wonderful dinner – marinaded chicken breast, broccoli, green beens, leftover tomato, brown rice.  If I hadn’t had the gin, this would have been a good day being strict on the program.

Oh well.  It was National Day in China.  I had to celebrate.
